Links and Life
Books, Music, and another pair of shoes, why not?!
Slow and steady wins the race. I have finally recovered from all my jet lag and heat exhaustion from Paris.
I’m back on my usual bs, digging into weird watches, getting pissed at rabbits eating my plants, and getting overly emotional watching my kids grow up. Positive vibes only.
Here’s what I’ve been digging into…
Thrilling Tales of Modern Men: Stories
Danny McBride is a genius. I’ve been listening to his first book of short stories and it’s like I’m watching the next Eastbound & Down. It’s narrated by him plus the usual crew of the Danny McBride Universe. (John Goodman, Eric Andre, Edi Patterson, Walton Goggins, and more)
The Crusades: The Authoritative History of the War for the Holy Land
HARD PIVOT. An incredible account of the Crusades that has me digging into even more historical books. Thomas Asbridge does an amazing job of showing both perspectives and I even took notes while reading.
The Bear Soundtrack Season 05
HANS.ZIMMER. I just found out why I can run an 8 min mile again.
NOTE: Yes, yours truly is in the final season as a brief cameo. I’ll unpack more of it in a solo pod, but I was asked to source some watches and pieces for the show which then evolved into. “Hey, why don’t you be the guy?” It was the time of my life.
Other Stuff
Saucony Racer 80
Low-vamp shoes for the win. A super elegant “runner” that also looks good with bigger jeans and are incredibly comfortable. I almost equate to wearing these like trying to make “fetch” happen. But they’re perfect, and I’m locking in.
Next Week on the Pod is a new episode of Die Workwear, and we’re back on their Wardrobe Budget series. Plus more good stuff!
Enjoy your A/C’s everybody. Hug them tight.

Love the recs (esp. the books)
