Cool Stuff From PFW
I’m back from the land of big fits and bigger fashion shows.
Paris was very good. Despite yours truly getting sick and dealing with a wack af airbnb owner who would remotely turn the heat off - wtf.
Thursday is a new JJJ episode, but in the meantime, here are some of my favorites from Paris - btw, I’m not a fashion critic, I just like clothes.
Color, color, and more color. I love Auralee, and they’re one of the few brands that I find myself buying a piece from nearly every season. Also, it all works together. I said this on our upcoming JJJ, but to me, Auralee is like if Armani and Engineered Garments were smashed together. The tailoring is fantastic, and they continue to repeat pieces every season in incredible new fabrics.

I was lucky enough to record a pod with creative director, Ben Stubbington (airing soon), and it’s great to see Veilance continue to pull away from Arcteryx into more tailored silhouettes. There were plenty of bigger pants and long coats. Veilenace is also one of those brands that you have to feel to understand more. Sure, it looks like a minimalist piece, but when you touch it and look at the pattern-making, the quality and design knock you out. Respect.
The hype continues, and it does NOT disappoint. There were a few goobers mumbling, “I dunno, man, I think they may be getting too big.” bla bla.” Whatever they’re doing to handle this growth is working. The line for FW26 is close to 200 pieces - all of which are mind-blowing, and I want to buy. They did not allow any photos of pieces, but I can confirm that the tiny “hood” that’s not a hood has been nixed from the collection.
Bill McNicol of WF is still ascending, and his FW26 collection is a banger. If you haven’t heard his podcast, go listen to it. Many of the fabrics he uses are developed exclusively by him, but Bill is pretty transparent about his products. “Oh yeah, this is from this mill and made by x.” Most brands don’t do this because they’re worried about being knocked off. Bill is not worried. He knows what he’s doing, and he knows his stuff is good. He’s a good guy running and even a better brand. I hope they continue to skyrocket.

Dang…NYC STILL GOT IT. Shame on me for getting so elitist about Japanese brands, then WF and Archie just kick me in the face.
Seeing Archie just floored me, and designer Mark Smith Clarke’s new collection is bangin’ good. He walked me through it, and I was so in awe that I didn’t even take any pictures. I know, I’m an idiot, but you will see me in this FW26. TRUST

It was great spending time with you! Thank you
Obsessed with these WF pieces
